Why Having A Bridal Registry Is Essential

The wedding is set. The invitations have gone out. Now your family and friends are wondering what gift to get you.

If you are going to start with absolutely nothing, your loved ones will have a lot of options on what to get you. The problem is you might end up with 10 oven toasters, 4 grills and a whole bunch of towels and beddings and not much more. What would you do with sets meant for a king size bed if you sleep on a double?

Have mercy on your family and friends, as well as on yourselves. Please have a bridal registry. This is a great way to let them know what you really need and want to receive. Most stores now extend this service and actually have a staff member to help the happy couple prepare their list of preferred items. They will usually ask you to choose from a catalog or from actual items in the store which items you like and how many of each you’d like to receive.

Don’t be shy about putting an expensive item on the list. It is the choice of the giver to give you the item. Knowing though that some of your guests may be working on a budget but still want to get you something you’ll love, choose an assortment of items across a wide price range.

The best part of having a registry, if you end up having too many of the same item, some bridal registries will allow you to exchange the items for other items you prefer of an equal amount. Of course, only as long as the items were bought from their store. Have fun shopping!

Wedding Websites Are Not An Option Anymore

In today’s fast paced planet, the internet is quickly becoming a necessity when planning any event. Getting married can prove to be an organizational nightmare. Trying to get your friends and family to the same place at the same time alone can prove to be no small task. The answer… a Wedding Website…

Wedding websites and online wedding organization tools are a fast and efficient method of helping organize your guests, provide them with the information they need to share your special day and share with your guests far and away the pictures, video and other mementos after the wedding itself.

Keeping track of who is having chicken and who’s having fish isn’t always as easy as it sounds. That first list you made up has so many changes to it you can’t remember if Aunt Peggy is still single or not. The tools available through wedding websites can help you keep track of who has rsvp’d and who is sitting where.

“Will you Marry Me?” If only it were that simple. Plan on spending the next many months answering the phone every few minutes to tell uncle morty … AGAIN … how to get to the church. By including the URL to your wedding website on your invitations you can prevent last minute confusion and save yourself the headaches.

Sharing all the photos and video clips from your wedding has become a much easier task as well. Wedding websites allow the married couple to easily share photos and video of the events with family and friends around the world right away. Uploading the photos to the wedding website has become very easy to do and makes sharing the moments easy.

Having a wedding website is no longer an option. By alleviating much of the stress involved with getting married, wedding websites have become as much a wedding staple as the cake.

Choosing The Ideal Wedding Dress

Most brides-to-be start dreaming about the ideal wedding dress long before they are even engaged. Choosing the ideal wedding dress is crucial because it is perhaps the only day that all eyes will be looking at you. A dress that is beautiful whilst remaining tasteful and also flattering to your figure will ensure that you look your best on your wedding day. With so many style, color and fabric options available, choosing the ideal wedding dress can be a daunting task. However, most brides simply know when they have found the ideal wedding dress. From the moment they put on the dress, they instinctively know that this is the ideal wedding dress for them.

The most important thing when searching for the ideal wedding dress is to begin looking at least six months before your wedding date. Finding the ideal dress will most likely take quite some time and once you find the dress, it could take up to four months for the dress to be ordered and shipped to the store. Once the dress arrives in the store you most likely will require several fittings to ensure that the dress fits absolutely perfectly. You should take your time and enjoy looking for your wedding dress so it is crucial that you begin the process in good time to avoid feeling rushed and overwhelmed.

Another useful piece of advice for finding the ideal wedding dress is to try on many different styles of dresses. Even though you may be certain that you want a particular style you may find that the style that looks so appealing in magazines does not suit your body type. You may also find that a style that you would have never have considered before can be flattering to your figure. For this reason it is important to try on a wide variety of styles before dismissing a particular style. The old adage “you won’t know unless you try it,” holds perfectly true for wedding dresses. There have been numerous brides who have found that their ideal wedding dress turned out to be totally different from the one they had envisaged.

Although it may not be what you expect, the color of the wedding dress is an important thing to take into account when choosing the ideal wedding dress. The concensus seems to be that the only acceptable color for a wedding dress is a pure white. However if you keep an open mind, you may find yourself with a wedding dress that is far more flattering to your skin tone than a pure white dress. Wedding dresses come in a wide variety of colors including ivory, cream and even subtle beiges. If you are happy to consider these options it is important to try on dresses in these colors to see how they work with your complexion.

Choosing the ideal wedding dress often requires getting a few second opinions. Having a few close friends or family members that you trust come dress shopping with you can help you find the dress of your dreams. They can offer opinions on each dress that you try on and can also scour the countless racks of dresses available and choose dresses for you to try on. Many brides instantly know that they have chosen the ideal wedding dress the moment they put it on but having trusted friends and family members with you can confirm this feeling. When you first step out of the dressing room and show them the dress you are wearing you may see reassuring confirmation that you have made the perfect choice. The reactions of your assistants will indicate that you have indeed found the perfect dress.

When you have chosen the ideal wedding dress, now is also the time to buy the it. Nothing is more important than your gut feeling and the reactions of the friends and family that accompanied you so if you know you have the ideal dress in your hands, don’t risk losing it by opting to think about it for a few days before you make your purchase. There is always the chance that the last available dress will be sold or that the company will discontinue that particular style so do not allow yourself to miss out on buying the ideal wedding dress by not buying it the moment you realize it is the dress for you.

The wedding dress is one of the most critical elements of a wedding. It is what makes a bride truly stand out and it is important for her to ensure that she has chosen the ideal wedding dress. The minute a bride-to-be steps into a wedding dress she will know instantly whether or not it is the ideal dress. It’s important to trust this gut reaction and act accordingly in choosing the ideal wedding dress.

10 Exciting Bridal Shower Game Ideas

Imagine the next time you join a discussion about weddings. When you start sharing the fascinating wedding facts below, your friends will be absolutely amazed.

The bridal shower is an opportunity for the women in the future bride’s life to honor her with a simple luncheon or get together filled with good food, fun and games. Many bridal showers feature a series of games that are not only a great deal of fun but also allow a bonding opportunity for all of the women at the party and sometimes serve the purpose of completing a task for the bride to be.

A game that encourages the participants to get to know each other is always a fun game with which to start the party. One game you can play is known as the Name Tag Game which encourages guest to mingle with the other guests. In this game, the hostess writes the name of each of the guests along with a word related to weddings such as veil, favors, groom, etc on a name tag. The rules of the game are that you are not allowed to say the word on your name tag or else you lose your name tag to the person who got you to say the word. If you acquire one or more additional name tags you are tasked with not saying any of the words on either your name tag or any of the other tags. If you say the word on your tag, you have to relinquish it to the person who got you to say the word and if you say the word on one of the other tags, you also have to give that person the tag plus you have to introduce them to the person from whom you had acquired the tag. There is usually a pre-determined time limit for this game and the person with the most tags when time runs out is the winner.

The Purse Game is another popular bridal shower idea. This is a simple game where the hostess draws up a list of items likely to appear in a woman’s purse and assigns a point value to each item ranging from 1-5 depending on how unusual the item is. For example car keys might be a 1 on the scale, a mirror a 3 and an eye lash curler a 5. The hostess might also choose to allow 10 bonus points for the woman who can produce the most outrageous item from her purse. The woman with the most points wins the game. Another variation of this game is to have a list of items and call out the items one at a time. The first woman to find each item and hand it to the person judging the game wins one point. After the entire list has been completed, the woman with the most points is proclaimed the winner.

Another common bridal shower game is the Television Couple Game. In this game the hostess will read out the first names of a television couple and the guests try to guess the last name of the couple. A few examples clues along with the answers are George and Jane – Jetson, Al and Peg – Bundy, Ward and June – Cleaver. One point could be awarded for each correct answer or a point system could be established to award more points to more obscure references. This game is also sometimes called the Famous Couple Game and includes references to celebrities or political figures and their real spouses such as Bill and Hillary – Clinton.

Bridal Shower Bingo is another simple bridal shower game. This game is played just like regular bingo except that instead of using letters and numbers for the spaces, each space is filled with a word or words that relate to weddings, love or marriage such as wedding dress, favors, eternal, true, rings, etc. The host makes up the bingo cards ahead of time and puts a piece of paper with each word used on the cards into a large bowl. During the game, the hostess will draw out a word and read it allowed and each participant will mark that square on their card. The first person to complete an entire row, column or diagonal wins the game.

One bridal shower game that can be a real benefit to the bride to be is a simple drawing. The hostess may purchase a few inexpensive gifts for the drawing and ask each participant to fill out an envelope with their name and address to enter the drawing. The hostess then picks out a name for each prize. This is a fun game because it offers the participants a chance to win a prize plus it really helps out the guest of honor because she can use the envelopes to send out her thank you cards after the party.

Those of you not familiar with the latest on weddings now have at least a basic understanding. But there’s more to come.

The Who Am I Game is another bridal shower game that encourages guests to interact with each other. In this game, the host prints out pictures of characters from romantic books or movies and tapes one character to the back of each guests so that other guests can see the picture but the person wearing the picture cannot. The point of the game is to ask other guests questions where the answer is either yes or no to try to determine who is on the picture on your back. At the end of the party, each guest takes a guess at who is depicted in the photo on their back.

The Wedding Jumble is another fun bridal shower game. For this game the hostess will prepare a list of words related to a wedding day such as toast, limousine, receptions, and vows. Next the hostess will scramble each word so that the letters are out of order and provide each guest with a copy of the scrambled words. The guest will be given a set amount of time to unscramble the words and the person who unscrambles the most words wins. If more than one person gets all of the words correct then the person who did so in the fastest time is the winner.

The Wedding Day Obstacle Course is another game that can really help out the bride. In this amusing game each guest is timed individually on how fast they can complete a series of tasks such as wrapping a wedding favor, addressing envelopes, filling out a place card, assembling a centerpiece, or whatever other projects the bride has in progress that can be incorporated into the game. Not only is this a game that is both fun to watch and participate in but it also helps the bride to complete some of the tasks on her list.

The Bridal Shower Memory Game is also very popular. The typical way to play this game is to have a tray filled with various household items. Bring out the tray and allow the guests to study the items for a few minutes and then take the tray away and ask questions about the items such as, where the spoon was and what color was the spatula. This game could also be modified to have one of the guests bring the tray out and then leave the room to take the tray away. You could then catch the guests by surprise by asking questions about the person who carried the tray such as what color shirt were they wearing or on which finger was she wearing a ring instead of asking questions about the contents of the tray.

The Price is Right Game can also be a great deal of fun at bridal showers and can serve to benefit the bride as well. For this game the hostess will purchase about 10 different items that will be useful for the couple such as towels, soap dispensers, household cleaners, etc. and have the guests try to guess the price of either all the items combined or each item individually. This is not only a fun game but the bride also gets to keep the items which makes it useful for her.

All of these games are a lot of fun to play at a bridal shower and they encourage the guests to get to know each other in a casual atmosphere. Some of these games even serve the purpose of helping to complete some of the bride’s last minute projects. The fun of these games is that they help people to get to know each other better which is helpful especially if the bride and grooms’ families don’t know each other well.

Now you can be a confident expert on weddings. OK, maybe not an expert. But you should have something to bring to the table next time you join a discussion on weddings.

Andrew Gesley from San Francisco USA Gives His Preferred Skiing Holidays Europe

I’ve stayed in a lot of European alpine snowboarding fields e.g. Courchevel, Les Grands Montets, Chamonix and Le Grand-Bornand, but during all the family’s ski holidays Chamonix town constitutes my favourite European resort to go for luxury ski holiday.

The provenance of French Alpine history and dwelling to the lofty Monte Bianco – at 4807m Europe’s greatest summit – Chamonix Mont Blanc boasts a superb snow register, a lengthened snowboarding season (Dec-May), unmatched extreme skiing, and sights to die for. Furthermore Chamonix has an multinational reputation for more or less the most dramatic, ambitious, and thrilling boarding available anywhere in the cosmos.

Chamonix Mont Blanc France is huge likewise it is confusing, and that’s before we even include the adjoining resorts; such as Les Orres, Tignes, Luz Ardiden, Espace Killy and La Tania.

The Monte Bianco ski pass covers ten Chamonix, and 15 territorial snowboarding fields; with skiing upwards of 3845 metres, upwards of 200 button lifts, and 730 km of ski runs – with the majority of the skiing resorts above 2030 metres. It provides for every grade from initiates right through to experienced skiers. See our skiing mountains page for detailed look at each of the popular mountains: Super Besse, Flaine, Les Gets, Isola 2000, Val Thorens and Bessans.

The Sign of Signs – Who is That Fool on the Corner with the Sign about the End of the World?

The Pope it is said condemned the use of the cross bow when it was first introduced. He apparently thought it could be the demise of the whole world because it was so deadly. When cannons were first invented some thought that marked the end of the world. Now we have a weapon that could bring an end to all life on the planet, the hydrogen bomb, and certainly there are people who still believe that it might yet bring about the end of civilization. Adding to this there has always been someone or some group insisting that their generation would surely be the last.

Who hasn’t seen the person wearing or carrying the sign that reads something like, Repent for the end of the world is near? Hollywood makes sure to show such people in the movies and usually they are depicted as neurotic and mentally deranged weirdoes who only need to be avoided and ignored. By now it is easy to understand why some Christians may he a little embarrassed to bring up the subject of the second coming of Christ. Add to this the fact that Jesus said that no one would know the day or the hour of his return and you have the right mix to produce the wholesale indifference that emerges among more and more of today’s believers.

The enemy certainly has been able to capitalize on these eccentric second coming enthusiasts with their spurious interpretations of scripture. But we would be foolish and remiss to allow him this victory because of the excess of a few, or our fear of embarrassment. The misinterpretation of a sign is possible with any theological position. One of the safest ways to be surer about the signs is to be patient and wait for them to unfold.

It is alright to speculate and watch as things begin to materialize but hold back on some conclusions and give God space to show us what he is doing. We must always keep in mind that some of the Jews missed the coming of their messiah because they had nailed down an exact path for his appearance without allowing that some of their speculation may not have been exactly on the mark.

For example, it was well known that messiah was to come from Bethlehem but Jesus was from Nazareth. A little research, questioning and openness could have resulted in finding the rest of the story. The birth of Christ was never meant to be a secret, and anyone making even cursory inquiries could have found out that he was actually born in Bethlehem. But many were clinging hard to their pet beliefs and would not allow themselves this knowledge. One might say that they missed salvation itself, not because they were so sinful but because they were so stubborn. They had created a formula, a viewpoint or a theory that by sheer force of time and repetition had become like an immutable law.

A lack of pliability in second coming doctrine is far more serious than rigidity in any other area of scripture. Much of eschatology is yet to unfold; being rigid about an unknown is foolishness on the level of finding moral guidance from the stories of ancient mythology. No one should think that guidance comes from make believe characters and events, unfortunately, they do! Many second coming buffs are also deriving some sort of guidance from events that haven’t occurred yet. The best answer to this dilemma is found in a single saying of the Lord Jesus concerning signs. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Mt 24:34

This verse could he called, the sign of signs. It is a capstone or the key to all the events preceding the second coming of Christ. Jesus knew the second coming would not take place in his generation so it had to be some future and seemingly unspecified generation. Yet, it is specified. That generation, is the generation in which all the other signs happen together. They cannot be spread out over millennia, centuries or even more than one single generation. This sign is what qualifies all the other signs. Simply put, if all the signs are happening concurrently, that is the sign that it is the last generation, and it will culminate with the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Here we are given a failsafe or a perfect way to keep from falling into error in today’s second coming doctrinal maze. If you haven’t checked lately, you might want to look again, because no generation in over twenty centuries has had all the signs happening at once, except this one.

Seeing Through Religious Cults

It is amazing how many people turn their life mission over to religious cults, nationalism or some cause, which is not even something they would normally ever consider. Why is it that some people just don’t get it you ask?

You ask how come people do not get it? Well, perhaps it is the social and human conditioning of their peer groups, parenting and teachings, as humans seem to be able to believe just about anything. When you listen to folks comment on material human pursuits and the trivial nature of such, sure it seems to makes sense. Of course those who are recruiting followers use point this out and use this comment as a tactic to reel in their prey. Once they have their catch they convert the person into a different mission and cause of their choosing and not that of the individual who was merrily busy in pursuit of their own happiness prior to the encounter of the recruiter.

Next the recruiter will explain there reasoning and theory in more depth to get the individual to agree and establish a baseline of commonality to build on. This is fairly easy. For instance if the potential follower says; “I do not believe in Voodoo Witch Doctor Gods, I am an atheist!” The recruiter will say; “You know, I was just like you one day until I found the Voodoo God and it changed my life!” This is called witnessing. So, next time you see someone trying to build report with you in this way to sell you a product or service or sell you on an ideal, concept or religious theory you will see how they bend your innate characteristics and attempt to “mirror” you to the point of manipulating your mind. Some of these recruiters are very good at it and this is why so many people fall for their line of reasoning. Consider this in 2006.
