Cycling before Going Ski Touring Improves Results and Prevents against Serious Injuries

Annually it’s the repeat tale. Notwithstanding jogging to the workplace, and an irregular hike, each ski season begins on those torturous 1st few tours during which I am left behind in the route of more virile and better snowboarding partners. It’s enough to ruin my skiing holiday.

Being in bad shape whilst ski touring it is unpleasant, and may be downright severe. Skiing down you require some surplus capacity. A tired boarder is more likely to suffer injuries and tiredness can be a contributing element to accidents, such as trips and rock falls.

Surely there’s a better manner to start the season, and a freshly released 300 page guide by Claire Pinero appears to provide an answer. Although directed at mountaineers the report is for the most part relevant to touring, with its strenuous ascents as well as other hobbies.

Climbing, training for peak performance is highly detailed and easy to read. It’s a quality all round guide which assembles some poignant info. You may develop a specialised exercise program or improve your present programme. Given that it is calculated for climbers, and so some report could be irrelevant for skiing, it’s by all odds a guide to get if you wish to do some of the long 24 hrs or multiple day classic routes.
