The Issue of Parental Responsibility and Healthy Eating for Youngsters Is Very Important Today

I was frightened yesterday during a visit to the superstore. I saw an 8-10 years old boy disagreeing with his mummy to get a little carton of a famous cola drink included in the family’s shopping trolley. Most people know that its good to be free from artificial flavours.

Nothing special about that but guess what – he was way fat. That lead me to consider the issue of parental responsibility and healthy eating for youngsters. Many moms and pops seem to find it better to give into the whinging and whingeing of our kids – I know that I do at certain times. Instead we let them to jump headlong into the arena of fast foods, soft drinks, fizzy drinks and unhealthy junk food at an age where they’re incapable of making good decisions about their eating. One of the real reasons our kids select these unhealthy foods is really because they have the wizardry proportion of salt, fat and sugar to make them taste nice. as we all know there are lots of good sensible food that taste fantastic too. You simply have to try them to see. If you’re unsure you wish to go to all that effort – and discomfort – with the youngsters, just consider what we’d be doing for them. I’m sure you need them to grow up and live long healthy lives? The key’s to get them going on the right foods early on, is to set a good example and to educate them about food and nutrition.

If you eat good foods, you set a good example for your youngsters. Sadly , if you cannot set a nice example, then your youngsters are not likely to take you seriously. This implies they will most probably not wish to eat whole grains, fruits, or healthy veg either. So if you can, develop sensible food habits at a young age, it’ll make it way easier to keep them eating healthy in the future. These early years are a critical time in their lives. Think about this when you’re feeding your kids every day. You are molding them to some level.
